The steel backplates above are shown in ferric brown patina. Notice
they all have a diffrent personallity it is not a totally
uniform patina . The finish varies but all match to a nice degree .

The above steel backplates are not really blue they just came out that
way on my scanner.
289 below is a cast bronze back . There is also a steel version a lot
less costly but with out all the artistic detail.

1195 is almost 5.75" long and 7/8" tall. It was designed for all my
customers who liked plate 1058 but not the stepped
detail on the ends . It also would be a family mate to 1056 steel
plate.

358 Above is the cast version with very hilited hot oil Black patina.
There is also a Steel version at a lower cost.

Notice plate 1124 above has six mounting holes. 1125 has four 1126 has
three. You can see the rest .
A lot of backplates came nailed in and a lot were not and just have the
straps holding them on the drawer face.
The two Plates on Top are a fairly small size yet fancy .If you are
looking for a fancy back for a Mid sized
Handle they may work out for you. Please feel free to email
questions about appropriate mateings .The Above
set and all my Steel backplates come in 18 gauge some 16 gauge when
they screw up at the cutters .And all
Come hand beveled , Custom Slotted for handle of choice ,
And with Patina of choice . Choices being
Traditional hot oil Black at the top of the list , Brown rust , Or
Ferric brown shown at the Top of this page.
Blued steel (gray/Black ) Not a recommended finish . Or Burnished
bright steel also not a recommended finish .
With the cast Bronze Backplates there are other patina possibilities
like PaloVerde Green , Dark Green ,
Red Iron Oxide .Those patinas look best when hilighted. There are a few
other expensive choices like Heavy Rust
or Heavy Rust under Hot Oil Black for a very authentic and old
look . For the two mentioned finishes add %75
to the cost of any steel backplate and the time frame to make them is
about a year. The two finishes are shown below.
Top is Black Oil over Heavy Brown Rust.

These special Brown rust finishes can be made darker with oils or waxes
OR can chemically be turned into Black rust
Or a Black Oil patina over them included in there additional
cost. The above is a close up of 289 in heavy Brown Rust.
